Macabre Travel: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Reunion in Brooklyn
Next Wednesday, the Galapagos Arts Space in Brooklyn is being transformed into the "Bronze".
The creators of the Buffy Sing Along, the Rocky Horror style Buffy event that was the hit of the West Village in 2007, are now hosting the best reunion party ever: THE SUNNYDALE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS REUNION.
Each guest will be assigned their own Sunnydale student identity kit at the door. Then sexy dance your way to music videos from the end of the century, (think soundtrack artists like Cibo Matto, Garbage, Fatboy Slim), challenging Buffy trivia contests, the popular Buffy-oke competition, and other Buffy related party games. Also look for tons of fan videos, big-screen Buffyverse trailers and performances by the band Orb of Thesulah. Appropriately-themed prizes will also be awarded for various contests.
Time Out NY magazine also hinted that an Academy Awards style montage of everyone who bit the dust at Sunnydale will also be screened...
Wednesday, June 3rd @ 8:00pm
at Galapagos Art Space
16 Main Street, Dumbo, Brooklyn

Macabre Travel: Midsummer Nightmare NYC
Do you mourn the eleven months of the year that is not October? Are you disgusted by the cheesiness of Disney-like haunted houses? If you will be in NYC during the next three weeks, the Vortex Theater Company has the perfect evening for you.
The Midsummer Nightmare is an adults only haunted house that truly delves deep into your psyche to rattle your fears. The first basic rule is that you MUST walk through it alone. Thrillist already warns of "elaborately bloody scenes depicting violent sexuality and disturbingly scatological bathroom horror, plus "complete and total darkness".
Don't expect plastic bats or paint splattered sparkly costumes. Do bring extra underwear.
On a budget? This journey and a shot of whiskey are only $6. Book now.

Louis Vuitton Styles the Gothic Diva?
Your favorite madam was invited to preview the luscious offerings of Louis Vuitton in their NYC showroom this evening. While many of you are familiar with this luxury brand and their relationship with the ladies who lunch, I bet you didn't know that they make exquisite accessories for Gothic divas like us as well? During the intimate cocktail party, I spotted this fabulous pair of shoes on display. On offer to the public come Fall 2009, they feature deliciously exaggerated shaped heels adorned with pearls. Red and black lace make up the body with sexy black velvet ribbon to tie seductively around your ankle. Who knew the establishment could be so edgy?

Morose and Macabre Gallery and Shoppe
Are you tired of staring at the bleak, blank walls of your home? Perhaps its time to peruse the spooky and elegant gallery of Dr. Morose and Miss Macabre Noir (not a relative of mine). Their biography, or "Obituary" states the deceased couple had made an agreement with the devil to return to Earth after being tortured and rolled in flames to "Share their visions of hell and the wonderful things that await the still breathing."
The gorgeously designed website is host to an online gallery of , moody art, creepy sculptures and shadow boxes. Their Etsy shop also offers art, jewelery and clothing. Their self-named "oddities" show a diverse range of skill and vision. Could they be Hieronymus Bosch reincarnated? Only Beelzebub can tell.

The Courtesan's Fashion Library: Japanese Goth
Japanese Goth
Hitting the bookshelves this week is a gorgeous book displaying a range of our favorite looks in Victorian, punk, anime, lace, and vampire-inspired lolitas. While the mainstreaming of Gothic fashion and culture keeps getting bigger and bigger, here is a book that presents it as the diverse artform it really is.
"Gothic culture in Japan doesn't mean listening to Bauhaus and wearing all black," says author Tiffany Godoy, a Tokyo-based fashion writer who co-created the book with Ivan Vartanian. "It explores core elements of Japanese culture like the supernatural, fantasy, folklore, religion, eroticism, gender, beauty, and performance, among others."
Not just a pretty tome, the author also continues into investigating the deeper inspirations, "There are so many elements that come into play: the island culture and mentality, isolationism, the shift of culture from pre– and post–World War II. I want to truly reflect the culture and ideas of the various scenes." Click here for a slideshow preview of what you will find inside.
